The Holidays have forced me to prioritize some sewing projects. The Christmas dresses are finished and the Christmas pajamas are cut and partially sewn. ButI just couldn’t wait any longer to sew up the Knoxville Top. Once I got sewing again, I just had to sew it up.

I’ve been anxious to sew this up since it released but haven’t been able to put it at the front of the to-do list until now. And it did not disappoint. I love the drape and ease of the shirt. It looks cute but is so comfortable!

This version is a crew neck, twist knot Knoxville Top in size 16 from the girls version of the pattern. I used a Mustard Rayon Spandex and it has great drape.. I mostly fit in the girls measurements because my so I just used the girls version and made a couple tweaks for a better fit. I widened the shoulders using the Valencia Top I made last year as a guide for how wide to extend the shoulders. I also lengthened the sleeve 1/2 inch because it was looking a bit short. I’m happy with both those adjustments.

For my next Knoxville Top I plan to try the scoop neck instead of the crew neck, widen the shoulders a bit more, and lower the armscye a little. It’s not really tight, but I think I’d enjoy a little more arm room in the next version. I’ll probably use the armscye from the Valencia top I made because I love how it fits. I’m itching to sew up a ton more. I am imagining workout tanks and fancy sparkly tops as well as everyday around the house tops like this one. In reality, I’ll probably only find the time to sew one or two more in the next couple months–but that stills feel pretty good with everything else I’m juggling!
