I’m really crushing on this shirt I made for my daughter. Originally I was pulling these fabrics together to make a shirt for myself. But I just couldn’t get my pieces cut out of the scraps I was working with. So I pulled out the pattern for the BSD Maggie Top I used for the Layered Ruffle Tee at the beginning of the year and set to work!
I had just enough of this plaid pink jersey to color block the top of the shirt. Mostly. I ended up having to widen the neckline to fit my pattern piece of the fabric. The off white Cotton Lyrca is working quite nicely for the rest of the shirt. On it’s own, I think the plaid would have been too much for my daughter but its just right with the solid.
My daughter says she loves this shirt! Which is pretty awesome considering she use to turn her nose up at almost everything I made. Ours styles are getting more and more similar the older she gets. I love that! It makes me much more confident in sewing things for her.
