Pattern Test: Gabriella’s Winter Coat

When I saw Melissa Prendergast’s testing call for Gabriella’s Winter Coat (affiliate link) I really, really, really wanted to test it.  Like REALLY wanted to.  The challenge of making an actual coat was so exciting to me!  And it did not disappoint.  I learned so much through this pattern test.  And now I feel like I can sew anything! Cue Music. “I am Super Girl and I’m here to save the world.” Princess Diaries anyone? Cough* Maybe it’s just me… Gabriella’s Winter Coat is sized from 6 months to girl’s 12.  It is meant to be made of wool or...

Baby Girl Outfit

One of my friends is having a baby girl in about a month and I couldn’t resist putting together a little outfit for the little sweetie.  I picked up a free idea paper from Joann’s and put the flowers on the onesie hair clip to make them match.  I bought the adorable shoes when I was expecting Pigg#2, and then never had her wear them because of the shape of her feet.  I really like the clip.  I’ll probably make a few more, except Pigg#2 already has a ton.  I’ll have to find some more baby girls to sew for.    I love the shade of pink in here.  I’m not really a Pepto Bismol type-a-pink girl, but I’ve found some beautiful corals, rosey, and peachy pinks to fall in love with.  I think there is a shade for everybody.  And I think the light pink flower will become a fun tag toy for the little girl to grab at.  If she can find it in the shadow of the big...

Pigg#2 is asleep, but even if she were awake she probably wouldn’t smile.  She was a bit cranky...

Little Girl Dress

This is a plain front of the t-shirt I made for Pigg#1 a bit ago.  He likes it. Here is an outfit for Pigg#2.  A friend brought me one of her old shirts to use for one of my projects.  So I trimmed it down into a dress for Pigg#2 and paired it with brown leggings I got on clearance 6 months ago.  It’s a bit loose around the neck.  I might take it in at the shoulders or I might leave it…growing room! The original shirt had the same design, but the back was much longer.  The front of the dress is exactly the same as the original shirt.  Same hems and everything.  But I had to cut about 3 or 4 inches off the back to even it up.  I think it’s sweet and will work in the summer too without the...
