Pattern Review: Janie Dress

Nut #2 loves to be comfortable, but girly at the same time.  And when school started and she needed new winter clothes, I felt like a Janie Dress with a cowl neckline was perfect.  Give it long sleeves and pair it with some Leggins and she skipped off to school happily!  Just pretend its actually the beginning of school and not after Christmas before I got around to posting this review!  But, she did just start at a new school, so maybe it still applies? I made a skater style dress for Nut#2 at Easter time and she loved...

Teeny Tiny Baby Dress for Baby Shower Gift

One of my new friends since moving just had her first baby girl.  And you know what that means…adorable outfits and blankets!  Luckily, I recently bought the Hazelbee Baby dress and made a teeny tiny baby dress.  But then I had to find a legging pattern for babies. When I had babies I always traced around store bought leggings. And the other legging pattern I’ve used isn’t in baby sizes.  I settled on the free leggings pattern from Halla. Since these are a gift and I can’t really try the outfit on for fit, I’m not going to do...

Holiday Seville Cropped Cardigans

Growing up, my family did not do new Christmas jammies or Christmas/Easter dresses.  We lived in central Arizona so we could wear the same clothes close to year round.  But I’ve made my girls a few dresses for Christmas over the years and had an especially fun time making matching dresses last year.  The dresses still fit so this year I’ve made Seville Cropped Cardigans to accessorize those beautiful dresses. I like my girls Christmas/winter/cold weather dresses to have long sleeves.  However the pattern I chose to use last year only had cap sleeves.  (Head over to last year’s...

Pattern Review: Love Notions Leggins

For years Nut#2 hasn’t had leggings because I only allow them under dresses and tunics.  We were riding bikes to school and dresses would get caught in the wheels-therefore no dresses and no leggings.  But we’ve moved and our climate is a bit more mild.  So I made Nut#2 a pair of Love Notions Leggins to wear under a dress I will share soon. When Nut#2 was really little I made leggings by tracing around pairs she already had.  That worked fine.  But we don’t have leggings in her current size, so I decided to make up the Love...

Handmade Pokemon Costumes

Halloween Costumes are not my favorite things to make.  But I made my kids some Pokemon Costumes and they are happy and excited to be able to wear them after Halloween too!  I tried to take some pictures yesterday before trick or treating and it was a bit crazy. So not super great pictures… Here we have Fennekin, complete with a giant tail. And here is Teddiursa, with a cute little tail and floppy ears. I used the Summit Peak Hoodie from New Horizons Designs to make the shirts for both Pokemon costumes.  I color blocked the hood to...
