Verona Dress for Christmas

I love sewing my girls new dresses for Christmas and the Holidays.  I haven’t made a new dress every Christmas, but have so much fun when I do.  They use to love having matching dresses and I loved matching them.  And while my youngest daughter still loves to match, my oldest daughter does not.  She is spreading her wings and wants to be unique.  We’ve had Sundays where they change 3-4 times trying to match and un-match each other.  So now I purposely make their dresses unique and call it a win if they coordinate.  This year I picked...

Plie Bag

Last year my youngest daughter was determined to take gymnastics.  Her friends tried very hard to convince her to take ballet, but my daughter knew what she wanted.  And that was gymnastics.  We did gymnastics all year.  Then to my surprise, she decided to try dance this year!  The problem is, dance has a lot more ‘gear’ she needs to keep track of.  Enter the Plie Bag from Jennuine Designs! Striped Ruffle Tunic

Nut #2 has outgrown a couple of the cute shirts I made her at the beginning of the year.  So I whipped up a tunic for her.  It was a bit risky since I never know what she’ll like.  However, she really likes it! I started with the New Horizon Designs Deer Creek Tunic bodice pieces and extended them about 5 inches.  I also extended the sleeve area a little because she seems to have inherited my wide shoulders.  I chose to put a band on the arms and a binding on the neck.  On the bottom I added...
