Ruffle Deer Creek Dress

I didn’t get Easter Dresses made this year, but I did get this version of the Deer Creek from New Horizons Designs sewn up for my daughter. I have a ton of this sparkle knit that I bought intending to make full skirt-dresses. I love the color and decided to stop hoarding the fabric. I hacked the Deer Creek to have a high low hem and added a ruffle to the hem. It turned out just like I imagined! I ended up doing the neckline twice. The first time I did a t-shirt binding out of habit. But the...

RCF Suit Up For Summer 2020

Today I’m really excited to take part in the Raspberry Creek Fabric Suit up for Summer Blog tour and share some new swimsuits I sewed up for my daughters with the new RCF Swim fabric. Verona Dress for Christmas

I love sewing my girls new dresses for Christmas and the Holidays.  I haven’t made a new dress every Christmas, but have so much fun when I do.  They use to love having matching dresses and I loved matching them.  And while my youngest daughter still loves to match, my oldest daughter does not.  She is spreading her wings and wants to be unique.  We’ve had Sundays where they change 3-4 times trying to match and un-match each other.  So now I purposely make their dresses unique and call it a win if they coordinate.  This year I picked...

Plie Bag

Last year my youngest daughter was determined to take gymnastics.  Her friends tried very hard to convince her to take ballet, but my daughter knew what she wanted.  And that was gymnastics.  We did gymnastics all year.  Then to my surprise, she decided to try dance this year!  The problem is, dance has a lot more ‘gear’ she needs to keep track of.  Enter the Plie Bag from Jennuine Designs! I’ve made plenty of rectangle bags with boxed off bottoms that I made up as I went along.  But I had to think so hard deciding the dimensions and...

I still only recommend things I honestly like and think are quality. Thanks for supporting this blog! Back in March I sewed up my first make from Jennuine Designs. I loved how clever the pattern was! Today I’m sharing another clever pattern from Jennuine Designs-the Skiff Tee. The Skiff tee has a nautical inspiration with a boatneck, vented hems, and color blocking. But this isn’t just a boatneck tee with color blocking (there even...
