Pattern Head to Head: Knit Skater Dress

Previously I have posted reviews of the Mouse House Creations Janie Dress and The Bella Sunshine Designs Sahara dress. They are both knit skater dresses with fitted bodices and circle skirts.  I had a hard time deciding between the two since they are so similar and decided to put them head to head with each other in a blog post so others can see how they compare. Now I know there are a bunch of other knit skater dresses out in the pdf pattern world.  But I’m only going to compare these two.  ‘Cause I don’t feel the need...

Reef Walker Pocket Hack

Comfy shorts have been on my to-sew list for months.  Spring and summer sneak up on me so fast even as I can’t wait for the warm weather to arrive.  Plus, we live in a really warm place and pretty much wear shorts all the time these days.  After weeks of requests, I finally got these new shorts made and even make a pocket hack for some extra variety.  They were an immediate win with the kids, which makes me happy! Posey Tunic and Peony Leggings Update

The past couple of weeks I’ve been helping update the Posey Tunic and the Peony Leggings from Sew Like My Mom.  I have never sewn the patterns before, but as part of the update the size range now goes to 16, the tunic now includes dress options and the leggings include a yoga waistband and a solid side option. Pattern Review: Janie Dress

Nut #2 loves to be comfortable, but girly at the same time.  And when school started and she needed new winter clothes, I felt like a Janie Dress with a cowl neckline was perfect.  Give it long sleeves and pair it with some Leggins and she skipped off to school happily!  Just pretend its actually the beginning of school and not after Christmas before I got around to posting this review!  But, she did just start at a new school, so maybe it still applies? I made a skater style dress for Nut#2 at Easter time and she loved...

Teeny Tiny Baby Dress for Baby Shower Gift

One of my new friends since moving just had her first baby girl.  And you know what that means…adorable outfits and blankets!  Luckily, I recently bought the Hazelbee Baby dress and made a teeny tiny baby dress.  But then I had to find a legging pattern for babies. When I had babies I always traced around store bought leggings. And the other legging pattern I’ve used isn’t in baby sizes.  I settled on the free leggings pattern from Halla. Since these are a gift and I can’t really try the outfit on for fit, I’m not going to do...
